A new season!

Summer holidays are now turning into a distant memory as I have settled back into life in Nepal! I have moved house and am feeling very blessed to live in a peaceful location with a beautiful garden, a front porch (with a porch swing!), a hammock room, a rooftop with a great view over the city (and mountains when they're visible!), a "S-prayer" room (spare room/prayer room) and a super fun housemate! There is something really nice about being able to come home and feel so at home.

We have a guest room so bookings are now open for visitors! 😊 Just let me know. Having a space to be able to host people is such a dream for me and I love living in a place where it's so normal for people to just drop by for a cup of tea. A number of my friends and colleagues live within easy walking distance (and even shouting distance from the roof!) which I love. School is a 5 minute walk away, as well as local shops, a pharmacy, a tailor, a restaurant, a cafe... it's just so perfect.

Here's my name - spelled walking around Civil Homes (the colony where I am now living!)

I am also teaching a new Grade 4 class this year and am really enjoying getting to know new students as well as teaching younger siblings of students I have previously taught! This year I have 14 students from 7 nations: Nepal, Korea, China, Germany, the Netherlands, the US and the UK. We have a number of new staff in both Primary and Secondary who I am enjoying getting to know, as well as more that are arriving in the coming weeks. Additionally, we have been praying for new families to come to KISC as our student numbers dropped over the pandemic and God has been answering our prayers in an amazing way. Admissions have been flooding in.

Our youth group relaunched on Friday, which is so wonderful to be a part of and see so many young people gathered together to pursue God. I've been to a number of different worship nights locally and am definitely seeing an increase in hunger and expectation within the wider community for God to move. Being involved in the school production of "Danny and the Shacks" - the biblical story of Daniel - is bringing me a lot of joy too.

PRAYER REQUESTS:

- Thank God for His provision for me with such a wonderful house and community living around me.

- Pray for the new staff and new students, that they will quickly feel at home in our KISC community.

- Pray for the Head of Primary position, which is still vacant. Four of us on the Primary academic leadership are covering the day-to-day running of Primary while the Director has stepped in as Acting Head of Primary.

- Protection over our school: Covid swept through again and (while not severe) has been very frustrating in terms of staff and student absence. There are also a few staff dealing with difficult personal and family circumstances. Please pray for us as we are in a spiritual battle here.

Thank you for continuing to remember me as I manage my different roles. I really value you, and your encouragement and support over so many years.

With much love,

Hannah xx
