Home for the summer
It's time for another update and I have now finished my first year at KISC. I can't believe how the time has flown but I also feel so much a part of the community there that I also can't believe that I've only been there for a year. It's the most incredible place - staff, students and families are so welcoming and supportive. I love being part of such an international community getting to invest so intentionally and prayerfully in these kids' lives.
See this link for the published video summarising this academic year at KISC:
So I have been teaching online for this term, living with a British colleague on the south coast and keeping to Nepali time. It's been a real blessing to get to walk on the beach every day, eat food that we've missed (like cheese!) and sit in her conservatory to work. As we've been on Nepali time, we've seen a number of sunrises!
Term has now finished so I am back in Spencers Wood/Reading with my parents for the next 5 weeks until the start of the new term. Next term will also be online, at least in part. Many of the families and staff members from KISC are now in their home countries. When the situation changes and the borders and airport reopen, and the government allows schools to start again, I will be back there.
So for the next 5 weeks I will be at home, spending time with my family and with Jesus. I am looking forward to a slower pace of life for a little while. I am always up for video chats so just let me know if you'd like to catch up. A socially distanced hang out could also be possible if you are local to the Reading area!
Thank you for your ongoing prayer and support. I am really grateful to each of you. Please continue to pray, particularly for the situation in Nepal where the virus is rising steeply, lockdown has been very strict and many people are day labourers so they have not been paid for months now.
With much love to you all,
Hannah
