Celebrated
Hello dear family and friends,
I'm sorry that it's been so long since I updated my blog. Time has been flying by and it's nearly the end of Term 2! We have one more week of school then I am excited to be coming home for Christmas. Due to Covid and travel restrictions over the last 2 Christmases, it's now been 3 years since I was with my family for Christmas! So I am very excited!
I am flying back to the UK on 19th December (landing early morning 20th) and will be leaving on 31st December in order to help staff a Student Leader trip to Pokhara with the senior students at KISC. I am really grateful to have this opportunity to pour into the lives of the older students and see them step out of their comfort zones and grow as a team.
I am hosting a Nepal evening on 29th December at The Gate Sindlesham. If you are in the Reading/Wokingham area and you did not get an email invitation and you are interested in hearing in person about what is happening in Nepal, please let me know.
A week ago I turned 34 and I had a big birthday BBQ which 50 people came to! There were a lot of people from both Iris and KISC and it was so much fun to connect with them and see them connecting with one another, to enjoy such good food and to see in front of my eyes some of the AMAZING community that God has provided for me here. And these were only a few of the many, many beautiful people that I get to journey with on a daily/weekly basis over here in Kathmandu. How wild is that, that God has given me abundantly more than I could have asked for or imagined! These people are home for me right now and I love getting to walk with them, share life with them and pursue Jesus alongside them.
I feel very celebrated and lavished upon!
34 is also significant because Psalm 34 says "TASTE AND SEE that the Lord is good! Blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him" (verse 8). And "Those who look to Him are RADIANT, their faces are never covered with shame." (verse 5). So this is my prayer over my year of being 34, that I will taste and see the goodness of God and that I will keep looking to Him and let Him shine through me. If you haven't done it, go look up the Psalm of your age, it's fun to know that I'm not going to reach age 150 so I'll never run out of Psalms to declare 😊
Also, exciting news! We now have a new Head of Primary who will be taking up post in January. I am already working alongside her at school (we joined KISC at the same time) and I am really excited to see how God is going to use her to lead the Primary school forward into this new season. Please pray for her and for us a a Primary leadership team and the Primary school. The new Head of Secondary has been in post for a few weeks already. Thank you Lord for providing all of these solid, godly leaders for our school!
Things to pray for:
- Safe flights home on 19th/20th December and my time in the UK.
- The Student Leader trip that is happening from 2nd-7th January.
- My tenants are soon moving out, please pray that God provides new tenants for me very soon and for a smooth process with everything that needs to happen with my house.
- My Grade 4 class
- The new Head of Primary
Thank you everyone for running with me, praying for me, supporting me and encouraging me. I value each of you immensely.
Don't forget to let me know if you live in the Reading/Wokingham area and would like to come to my Nepal evening on 29th Dec.
With so much love
Hannah
