Back in Nepal
Hi all, it seems like a long time since I’ve written on here. I hope you’re all well. I had a good few weeks with my family over Christmas although my Grandad passed away suddenly in the middle of December so it was a sad time as well as a joyful time as we also celebrated a milestone birthday for my mum. We had a glorious cruise around the south coast of Spain to celebrate her. I also particularly enjoyed all of the time by the sea.
I have settled straight back into life here and am really enjoying being back. I feel like this is home and, in spite of the cold and the dust in the air and the crazy roads, there isn't anywhere else I would rather be right now. We have a new housemate called Megan from Australia who is super cool so it's great fun hanging out with her and getting to know her. There are tons of street dog puppies around right now too which are really adorable!
The kids have settled really well back into school and I am greatly enjoying teaching them. We just had the KISC Day of Prayer this week and it was fun to see the creative ways that students were praying all around the site. Please continue to pray for me as a teacher, that I will steward these lives well that have been entrusted to me. This is the longest term (12 weeks with no break except for a long weekend at the beginning of March) so grace and stamina required.
I have also joined a choir - the Kathmandu Chorale. It's really fun to be singing challenging pieces with a group of new people and doing something a bit different.
Thank you so much for continuing to pray for me and support me. I really really value each of you. Here are some things that you can be praying for:
- Continued good health - some of my housemates have been unwell recently but I've been ok so far. I feel very protected and covered in prayer. Please keep praying!
- New staff and kids this term who are settling in.
- The kids in my class as I teach them and invest in them.
- The conversations and interactions that I have all the time with people as I do life here. I want to love people well and honour God with the way that I live.
- My sister is coming to visit in a few weeks so please pray that she travels safely and has a good time here.
- My extended family as we mourn the loss of my Grandad.
Thank you once again for all of your kindness and prayer. You are wonderful!
"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him. So that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13.
