Christmas is coming!

Happy December!

So I am now less than two weeks from the end of Term 2 and feeling rather festive! I continue to be so grateful that God has brought me here and overwhelmed by the amazing friends, kids to teach and community that He has given me here. It is beyond anything that I could have imagined before I came here.

Last Tuesday it was my birthday (I've hit the ripe old age of 31!!) and I was overwhelmed by everyone's kindness and expression of their love for me and appreciation of me being part of the community. The kids in my class were praying for me and encouraging me all day.

Then in the evening I had Mexican food with my friends and we had time to worship and pray and take communion together which was such a privilege. It stuns me that God would take people from all corners of the globe, of different generations and put us all together in this little country at the top of the world!

I am also really thankful for the Iris community that God has given me here. I really love doing life with them, they are inspirational men and women who capture God's heart really beautifully and push me onward with Him.

Here are some photos from celebrating Thanksgiving with them a few weeks ago (I love having American friends and Thanksgiving!)

I'm coming home for Christmas, which I'm really excited about! I fly back on Saturday 21st (in 11 days!!), so if you're at Kings, you'll see me on Sunday 22nd. I'm definitely looking forward to a break and some time to reflect, pray and regroup.

Prayer requests:

- Lots of people at school are getting sick at the moment so please pray protection and health over everyone.

- It's Grade 4A assembly next Tuesday where we tell the Christmas story from the angels' perspective. I've taken the story from "An Unexpected Christmas - see link below. My kids are really excited.

- That I would stay really close to God's heart and really attentive to His voice during this busy season.

- Protection over myself and the other staff who are travelling home for Christmas.

I am so grateful to each of you, for your care and kindness, for your faithful prayer and support. Have a blessed Advent and Christmastime.

With all my love,

Hannah

"Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill His promises to her." (Luke 1:45)
